The 24th International Agribusiness Exhibition and Seminar, took place at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Manila, Philippines recently. The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of South Africa, as well as Fruit South Africa, is participating this year. Mr Anton Kruger represented the FPEF and delivered a presentation regarding the fresh produce export industry.

We still have some regulatory issues to resolve before our fruit can enter the Philippines, but we are confident that discussions in this regard would be concluded soon. Our initial focus is on securing market access for South Africa’s citrus fruit. South Africa is the world’s second largest exporter of citrus after Spain.
